WHO IS TUNCAY KANTARCI IN REAL LIFE?

His name in the series is Tuncay, like the name taken from the real life person, his surname is different. Like the person represented in real life, he is also a bureaucrat in the series. Like Tuncay Mataracı, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for bribery he received from smugglers, Tuncay Kantarcı in the series suffered the same fate.

WHO IS TUNCAY MATARACI?

Born in Rize, Mataracı graduated from Rize Construction Technician School. He served as Rize Provincial Directorate of Road, Water and Electricity, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tea Planters Cooperative, and Regional Director of Physical Education.

He took part in various levels in the management of Rize provincial and district organizations of the Justice Party (AP). In the 1977 general elections, Rize was elected to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) as a EP deputy.

After the negotiations known as Güneş Motel Incident, he left the Justice Party and became one of the 11 deputies who formed a government with Bülent Ecevit in return for the ministry. He served as Minister of Customs and Monopoly in the 42nd Government established under the presidency of Ecevit.
